few questions - INFECTED OMNIPOTENCE
Ave,
can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded
and what style of music do you play , etc.?
Infected
Omnipotence came into existence as an idea from Corpse, as he was
planning on having a band that represented Death Metal’s true
feelings, which in return would work on filling an empty space
existing in the local metal scene.
The
band’s moniker represents the level of evil that’s innate in
human beings, taking it a step further and beyond, towards a supposed
omnipotence, which stands as infected by evil, being as corrupted and
decomposed.
Late
August 2012 the band releases its first EP "Global Infection"
containing four songs, including a cover of Vader. The album received
good response from the national audience, as well as several reviews
pages and international zines.
Currently
the lyrics are more focused on topics such as conspiracy theory,
manipulation from higher echelons of power and forced religious
indoctrination.
In
May 2014 they released the single Humanbotic Paradox, which shows the
new musical trend of the band, running a more versatile, current and
strong shades of brutal death death.
After
several changes to the Abortion (vocals) and Clandestine (Guitar &
bass) line up are left alone, however they may launch the EP Spawning
a Dystopian Breed, with the help of Furious Blaster on drums, who in
late 2015 was returned the band.
Where
and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was
in charge of sound, production and mastering?
Spawning
a Dystopian Breed was recorded at BlastBeats Studio (Dominican
Republic), Eric Cruz was in charge. It was a long process that took
more than a year, we loss two members on it, but finally we released
on november.
How
many copies were released and which medium was used for this new
edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?
We
released 150 cd copies in our country.
Who
is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what
do the lyrics deal with?
Abortion
is the main writer, in the Spawning a Dystopian Breed wrote three
songs, while Clandestine wrote one.
Who
created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and
the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider
these things important?
The
logo, the cover art and all the graphic line by Erick Meran
(Abortion).
For
an independent band like us, social networks are very useful, because
it is our main way of communicating with fans outside our country.
Therefore we give special care.
Which
label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are
you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about
you?
"Global
Infection" our first EP was released by VM Records, a small
label releases focused on extreme metal in Dominican Republic. With
the new production aim to achieve something bigger, especially that
you can distribute the album worldwide satisfactorily.
Which
bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?
We
admire a lot of old bands that have managed to endure over the years
making good music, as is the case for example of Suffocation and
Deeds of Flesh. Of the more contemporary bands Cattle Decapitation
certainly it is the one that blown our minds.
Inspiration
comes hand in hand with the way society is manipulated from the
different levels of power: governments, religions, corporations, etc.
It is something we see every day and that we capture in our lyrics
with a dark and futuristic touch.
Did
you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was
the response?
Obviously
we send our material to a small group of major labels brutal death,
we had favorable opinions, but we have not reached any agreement.
How
many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether
it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you
consider as the best?
When
the band had complete line up averaged 3-4 concerts per year, as it
has never interested us to keep playing live all the time. We played
only in our country. Here concerts tend to be a small number of
people, between 100 and 200 people. I think the smaller shows are
most enjoyed.
What
about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the
band?
Right
now we are completing our lineup to return to play live and also
promote the new album, at the moment is the most important and what
we're focused.
