Few questions - interview with old school death metal band from Mexico - MURDERLINE.

Few questions - interview with old school death metal band from Mexico - MURDERLINE.

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play , etc.?

R: The band was formed at the end of 2013 but was consolidated in 2014 with the launch of our first Demo. The idea of the band was to do Death Metal Old School but has been modified to make it more own and with the intention that the band has an identity, with a crude, aggressive simple but brutal sound and within the same line of the Death metal of the old guard.

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

R: We recorded our first album on Comatose Bunny Records, which at that time was our label. The recording and mastering was in charge of Bunny who was pending about our requests to achieve the sound of “Evil Has No Shape”.

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

R: For this first edition we get 500 copies in CD format by ALTAR RECS and we have a digital version for sale in Bandcamp, but looking to take out another format either cassette or vinyl.

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

R: At first the lyrics for the Demo talk about serial killers and some sinister, for the album we focus on the vision we have about the evil. As the name indicates there is no pattern or a universal way of perception about what is evil.

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

R: The logo did Michelle Bencomo. We do not consider it to be the most important thing, but if it is very useful, it is the way we have reached people from other countries, when they ask us for merchandise it is usually through some of the platforms we are on.

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

R: We are now with Altar Recs, It's a Mexican label. We decided to work with him (His nickname is Smu) because it was the best option for the band. Smu it's a great friend and being able to work with him our first album has been very pleasing to us. Previously he was our audio engineer, so he knows all the needs of the band. We have very similar interests and that has led to a very satisfactory agreement for both

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

R: The list would be endless, between many genres and bands is difficult, we have leaned more for death metal, but the inspiration depends on each member, as well as the instrument that play, but generally inspired by bands like Dismember, Interment, Nominon, Murder Squad, Megaslaughter, Revolting, Revel in Flesh, etc.

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

R: We have not sent anything yet, although we are planning to do it especially for the next material that will be recorded the following year, we hope that the answer be satisfactory and that we find some label with which we can work the new album or even release our disc in another format

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

R We have presented many times in our country but it is so extensive that we always have a show in some city that we have not visited yet. All the concerts are different and involve new reactions, we are firm with the idea that all the concerts are important if it is a festival or a bar you always have to present the best show

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

R: We want to stay us firm with what we believe and what we want for the band, to be together to achieve future plans, to continue creating music and to overcome ourselves as musicians and composers, produce more albums, a tour outside Mexico and share stage with bands that have inspired us . Meet the expectations of each member of the band with each new production.

How and where can your fans contact you? Can you provide some contact information?

R: You can contact us in the mail; murderline.666@gmail.com and on the facebook page: MURDERLINE.

Thanx for the interview.
